Chipping away

wednesday Eve
We’re not always getting Internet so blogs are few and far between. Walls on the annex are going up and soon we’ll tackle other of the construction aspects of project. Lisa and I have enjoyed opportunities to do some reading and math tutoring with the boys and are so touched by how much they seek to engage us. One of my personal prayers has been that I would form deeper connections with the boys (yes, deeper than Saypong!) and today one of them made a point of asking me some questions about how he might go after studying in America and then he just spontaneously started telling me his story which includes his father being executed because of his government connections soon after this boy was born and his mom struggling to feed him and him as a young kid selling drugs to pay for school fees. It is amazing how much they have had to overcome but I continue to be moved by the transformation of these boys, the great camaraderie they have and the desire they have to follow Jesus!

We’re also chipping away at the business development side of things. We have met with one of the Liberia Project Team members and are trying to set up visits with distribution sites. Please pray that we get done what we need to and that we make the connections that we need to. I just know that time is going to start speeding by!

One great experiences of the day was Christine invited Lisa to talk to one of her education classes at the Baptist seminary about her teaching experience. Lisa did a great job, communicating some great principles and learning from them. Tomorrow I’m supposed to go talk with Luther’s preaching class which should be interesting!

Thanks for your prayers! Keep them coming!
Blessings,
Cindy
